Christian provides business-minded advice on high-stakes disputes, including the prosecution and defense of cases in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediation. Christian represents clients in tribunals across the nation and, most frequently, appears before the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Superior Court. These disputes involve millions of dollars and complex legal issues.
Christian’s clients do business in a broad range of industries. He effectively counsels both consultants and customers in technology law matters, including prosecuting and defending claims arising out of failed software implementation projects. In the health care industry, he represents providers, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and biotechnology companies. He also represents financial institutions, retailers, distributors, and suppliers.
Christian’s corporate governance litigation experience includes shareholder derivative actions, class actions, and direct actions. He frequently handles minority shareholder claims, claims of breach of fiduciary duty, and litigation arising out of mergers, acquisitions, and other change-of-control transactions. Christian has also represented clients for alleged violation of federal and state securities laws.
Christian has litigated complex contract disputes, unfair trade practice and consumer protection cases, and insurance coverage disputes. He has advised clients in responding to government investigations and threatened litigation, and represented victims of financial crimes, and obtained restitution on behalf of those victims.
Before joining PS&H, Christian worked as legal counsel for the State of Rhode Island in the Office of the Governor and for the litigation department of a large multinational law firm.
