Travis’ legal practice is focused on litigation and regulatory matters. In his litigation practice, Travis represents clients in commercial litigation before the state and federal courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Travis’s regulatory practice is centered on representing clients in the banking, insurance, and cannabis industries before state and federal regulators.
Travis’s litigation experience includes a variety of complex commercial disputes, contract claims, employment matters, land use and zoning disputes, and appellate matters. He provides practical, down-to-earth advice to clients in litigated disputes ranging from mechanic’s liens to software contract disputes.
In his regulatory practice, Travis represents numerous banks and credit unions, mortgage companies, and other financial institutions, insurers and insurance agencies, and cannabis cultivators and dispensaries in connection with investigations, examinations, contested matters, and licensing before state and federal regulators and in state and federal courts.
Because his practice involves both individual clients and larger corporate clients, Travis uses his familiarity with a variety of different tools and technologies to cost-effectively manage disputed matters of nearly any size. This is especially useful in managing the extensive discovery that accompanies complex commercial and business litigation. Travis is familiar with and has experience using a variety of electronic tools and technology-assisted review software to better manage the scope and cost of document and fact investigation.
Prior to joining Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP in 2011, Travis was an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP. Travis was raised in Rhode Island and is a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School. Before law school, he was a technical writer and sales consultant at a Rhode Island-based technology company.
